Founded in 1975 as the Trinity Arts Foundation, Arts Council Northeast evolved from the Trinity Arts Guild. Arts Council Northeast formally received its nonprofit status in 1978, and was recognized by the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) in 1997 as the official Arts Council of Northeast Tarrant County (ArtsNET). With the addition of the City of Saginaw in 2004, we were recognized by the TCA as the arts council representing north Tarrant County and southern Denton County.
Providing artistic, cultural and educational opportunities to improve the quality of life to our communities.
Since 2015 ArtsNET has held 257 Art on Wheels (AOW) classes serving over 3,300 students. Virtual and in person, art classes provide a creative outlet for senior citizens and individuals, age 17 and up, with limited financial resources, and/or limited mobility due to health issues or transportation challenges.
A timeless treasure in our communities, Shining Stars has been a premier event and fundraiser for the nonprofit ArtsNET for 25 years. It is an elegant luncheon centered around our unsung heroes in our midst, who work tirelessly and volunteer joyfully for the nonprofits and our cities, which helped to make our communities the wonderful place they are to live, play and work.
Through the Masterworks Series, ArtsNET partners with cities to present free performances on selected evenings throughout the year. The Masterworks Series is designed to offer a variety of quality family entertainment to the community by utilizing the talent of local, regional, and national artists.
